Q. What should I expect the first time I attend First Assembly?
A. You can expect to be welcomed as soon as you enter the building. Greeters will be available in the lobby and at the Welcome Desk to direct you and/or your children, answer questions and make themselves available to assist you however needed. Each week, we have a "welcome reception" in the Fellowship Hall next door to the main building. Coffee, water and lite snacks are served as you meet church members, pastors and have an opportunity to learn more about our church family.

Q. What is a typical Sunday morning service like at First Assembly?
A. We generally have a time for praise and worship music, an offering, a greeting time, a special music or multi-media presentation followed by inspirational, educational, practical and anointed preaching from God's Word. Although we have a plan each week, we always leave room for the Holy Spirit to rearrange our plans if He so leads. Our desire is to have the gifts of the Spirit in operation in our services as people offer themselves to be used of God in this way.

Q. How do people dress to come to church services at First Assembly?
A. You will find a wide array of clothing during a Sunday morning service. Everything from shorts or jeans to men in suits and ladies in dresses. The key it to come dressed in a way that YOU are comfortable and feel like yourself. Other than using common sense modesty, we don't have any expectations of what people wear! You are coming to meet with God, worship Him, receive from His Word, agree with others in prayer and to build relationships with others. A fashion show is definitely not part of what church is about!

Sunday evenings services, Wednesday evening services and small groups tend to be more casual!

Come as you are . . . just come!

Q. What do you offer anything for children and teenagers?
A. Yes! We have ministries from birth through high school! Our nurseries are available every service for 4 months - 4 years old. University of the Word (Sunday School), Children's Church, Weekly Youth Services and many other ministries are available to meet the needs of children.

Just pull down the "Connect" button and go to "Ministries" to learn more.

Also, we are pleased to offer families the use of our "Family Room," located on the West side of the lobby. Parents or grandparents can take wiggly little ones or babies needing to eat to the Family Room. A selection of magazines and a live televised link to the service a changing table and some supplies are available to adults. A privacy screen and comfortable glider rockers are avaialbe for nursing moms. Snacks, toys, blankets and books are available for the children!

Q. What do you believe as a church?
A. Above all, our foundation for our faith is the Word of God. It has the authority to give us directions how to live; to learn from the past and from the experiences of those whose lives are featured in the Bible; to find the basis for salvation in Jesus alone; and to have a prophetic explanation of the things to expect in the days ahead.

We are part of a fellowship of churches called the Assemblies of God. We have adopted The 16 Fundamental Truths as listed by the Assemblies as our own core doctrine.

Q. On the website and in services, I often hear First Assembly being referred to as "family" or "church family." Why do you use family to describe the people who attend the church?
A. Jesus taught that those who believed in Him and obeyed Him were his family - his mother and father, his brothers and sisters. Throughout the New Testament, the imagery of family is used when talking about Christians who are united through the salvation they have found in Jesus Christ. For many of us, our spiritual family is extremely significant in our day to day lives. Although we are not biologically related, we are eternally related and have a home waiting for us all in heaven!
